#PoetsCorner : No longer

I am no longer at ease, wrapped round with distress
Innocence plucked, the tranquil facade a forgone memory
What have you done to me, cruel cruel age
Wisdom has become my burden
And alas the source of my unrest

I no longer know peace, there is conflict without fists
Pen mighter than the sword, words seem to hurt even more
We’re all soldiers in a war
Where no one is winner, take all

I no longer fear death, all it offers is reprieve
A world beyond this hate and violence
A chance for all to simply be brethren
A glorious rest, by jove I’m long overdue

I no longer know hope ,there’s nothing to believe
Words, words. Comfort me
Let me believe in you
maybe you can ease my pain
maybe...
